LIFE STORIES: ANGELITO “LITO” DEJORAS

A father who hopes to provide for his family to have a proper meal every day.

Angelito also known as Lito works as a weeder and a woodcutter. A humble and happy person. He has six children who most of the time joined him together with his wife to remove weeds and clean gardens and lawns for households who hired him for service.

Dejoras family lived in a house made of used wood, tarpaulins, roofs with no electricity, and water for a long time and they got used to this situation. Their family is one of the settlers of land they don’t own, they were allowed to live in return to watch over property and do services such as cleaning by removing weeds from the lot.

Their everyday struggle and need for help is the basic necessity which is food. They do not have an everyday cleaning service or a gig so it’s difficult for them to maintain meals 3x a day. Despite this situation, they are still blessed because they planted crops that they can cook for meals. Aside from this dilemma, not all of his children got the opportunity to go or continue their education.
